Adam Gill
Adam, born in East London in the late 1980s and later relocating to Essex in 2015, grew up deeply influenced by the Britpop era. Inspired by his older cousins, he immersed himself in the music of Oasis, Blur, and The Verve, while also embracing a broader mix of genres—from Queen and The Beatles to Level 42, Jamiroquai, and Michael Jackson. A self-proclaimed “musical sponge,” Adam’s tastes remain wide-ranging, even extending to the guilty pleasures of UK boybands and their solo ventures.
His early passion for music led him to attempt to learn guitar through a Bert Weedon VHS video tape, followed soon by keyboard and songwriting. He began performing as a drummer and vocalist in early bands before taking to the Essex open mic scene with the group Underground Airships. Their journey included playing various venues and headlining a local music festival, performing both covers and original material.
Adam now brings his eclectic mix of influences to ‘the daisies,’ drawing on artists like The Who, Paul Weller, Maroon 5, Iron Maiden, The Darkness, and more. With over three decades of listening and learning, his lyricism is rooted in storytelling and personal connection, aiming to make each song feel relatable and real.
For Adam, making music is about more than just performing—it’s about perseverance, passion, and setting an example. His hope is to show his children that even if it takes decades, you can still pursue what you love, as long as you keep coming back and never give up.
Up the ‘daisies!
